There were many things I missed while living in Abu Dhabi. In fact, life in the UAE was so different, that it'll be a whole segment of its own on this blog. But here's something funny to start with :) Sometimes it's the weirdest things you can think of :D!
1. HAVING BUNCH OF NAIL POLISH AND ACTUALLY USING IT!
Living in the UAE can make one extremely comfortable with luxury. One of these things is getting your nails done on a weekly basis. I loved it and it was one of my favourite activities. There's always this one salon where you're a regular. You walk in, everyone's nice and polite. They know you by name. You sit in a comfortable chair, relax, get a cup of green tea and choose your colour for your nails that you'll wear for a week before your next appointment. This is all great and awesome, BUT... WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL THE NAIL POLISH SITTING AT HOME??
While getting my nails done was always amazing, I couldn't help but feel bad for all the nail polish that I had at home, unused. I know this is silly, but I had accumulated quite a collection... After all, I carefully chose the colours in a store and spent quite a fortune on it, so I didn't dare to just throw it out.. so I kept it, and kept it, and kept it....
Well, I'm in Finland now!!! And a proper manicure costs approx. 50-60e, and that's not even for gel nails! Throw in a pedicure and it's a perfect recipe for "I can take care of my nails myself, thank you". So eventually, I am super happy I kept my collection, which is now fulfilling its purpose!
