Now that I'm back in Finland, I realize certain things that I really missed while I lived in Abu Dhabi and am really happy to get some of them back into my life :) This time, its A WHITE AND WELL FUNCTIONING KITCHEN!
Being Scandinavian (or Nordic, if we're being politically correct), it's almost like it's taken for granted that a kitchen should be white. White represents cleanliness. It is a bright colour that makes the space more open and it simply creates an environment where it's easy and comfortable to cook. However, in Abu Dhabi, the Gulf, the Middle East and in fact in many other places on earth, it's more common to have a kitchen that's some shade of dark wood. So finding a place with a white kitchen in Abu Dhabi was like finding a pearl in an oyster - possible but very rare. And I wasn't that lucky.
Now that I'm back in Finland, I just can't get enough of my white kitchen with a beautiful wooden surface.
